OSOPTA – still September 7th – Still only 8 hours long!

Hi everyone,

Are you feeling a bit lost, now that the OH QSO Party is over?
Well, fear not! The Ohio State Parks On The Air Contest is coming up on
September 7th. Yes, it is still held on the first Saturday after
Labor Day, and STILL only 8 hrs long, despite what the ARRL says!

If you go to ospota.org, and click the link marked “Planned Operations
– 2013”, you can get an idea what parks are going to be active this year. As of
this writing, it looks like we’ll have over 40 State parks on the air. But,
we’d love to see full activation (74 parks) this year. You'll also find the rules posted there.

John, KD8MQ

HamRadioNow – QRP episode

HAMRADIONOW EPISODE 83:  Online Now

QRP
(turns out life is long enough)

Everything you’ve always wanted to know about QRP… wouldn’t fit in this program. But we do talk about it a lot with Rex Harper W1REX (Tuna Tin Kits), Glen Popiel KW5GP (not the Pocket Fisherman guy), and Craig Behrens NM4T (The Huntsville Guy). From the Huntsville Hamfest. Running time: 64 minutes

KICKSTARTER reminder: As we post this episode, just a few days to go on our KICKSTARTER to fund producing video of the 2013 ARRL and TAPR DCC (Sept 20-22). We’re getting close! If you’re interested in the high-tech digital stuff, check the link to Episode 90, look at our previous DCC videos linked there, and consider making a pledge at any level. If you’re watching after Labor Day (Sept 2, 2013), go see if we were successful.
