Thursday – Net Night at the club site

Yes – THIS Thursday!  What, you think I might call it off due to the weather again?
No Way!  I figure I owe you something good.  I'm sure NR8W (aka Stinky) will tell his interesting story about running over a skunk with his truck last week.  There'll probably be some good snacks.  If the bands are open, there will be lots of activity tuning up for the big weekend contest.

Everyone will check into both the PCARS net and the ARES net.  You'll get a chance to speak to someone else you haven't seen in awhile.
Doors open at 6:30 PM and will remain open until at least 10:30.

Hope to see you there.  73,

Latest HamRadioNow episode

Episode 138 is up! It’s an interview with Jerry Wanger (rhymes with Ranger), CEO of Connect Systems, about a new handheld they have planned for fall release that will do analog FM, D-STAR and MOTOTRBO (generically DMR) digital.

Now editing: Another  talk with Bruce Perens K6BP. I was aiming for a discussion of the ARRL’s “Symbol Rate” petition at the FCC, and we did talk about that before moving on to a bunch of other stuff. Might have that up Sunday or Monday.

DX/Contesting SIG

Greetings from Parkman:
Tomorrow at 7PM we will be holding our monthly DX/Contesting Special Interest Group meeting.  We will be viewing a DVD on the Peter I Island DXpedition – 3Y0X – which took place in 2006.  It is an hour long and very, very informative.  I hope that all who are interested will make an effort to be at the club site tomorrow.

See you there…
