Net Night at the Club Site Thursday 12/26/19

Merry Christmas to All!
Tomorrow, Thursday, December 26 is the 4th ( and last ) Thursday of the month, of the year, and, of the Decade!
First, I want to invite you all out to the PCARS World Headquarters, located at 705 Oakwood St. Ravenna, OH for Net Night at the Clubsite! Bring some snacks and we’ll make it our “Pre-New Years Eve” Party! (Don’t forget, the real New Years Eve Party will take place next Tuesday evening at the Linux for Hams SIG) Doors at the clubsite will open at 6:30 PM tomorrow, and, since I don’t have to work the next morning will remain open al long as my eyes do! I want to have a group discussion after the net regarding several projects I would like to see PCARS involved in for the coming year.
Second, if you can’t make it out in person, please check into the PCARS Net! The net meets at 8:00PM on the K8IV repeater (146.895 Mhz, 118.8 PL). You can check in via RF, or, if your not in the area on the K8SRR Echolink node. Greg – KA8TOA will be NCS. Let’s give him a busy night! How about one for the record book? Think we could hit 60?
I’ll be listening to hear you on the net.

Positions I need to fill for 2020

Hello PCARS:
I want to wish you all a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!
I also want to wish you a Happy New Year and let you know that I will do my best to help you have a Fantastic 2020 as an Amateur Radio Operator and as a member of PCARS!
I am going to need some help. I have a few positions with the club that I need volunteers to step up for. Those positions are: 1) Club Secretary 2) Public Information Officer (PIO) 3) Membership Chairman and, 4) Social Media Manager.
I would especially like to have the position of SECRETARY filled as soon as possible. This is a very important position for the club, and one that will require some time and effort to fulfill. I’m just looking for the right person to step up and say “I’ll do it.” The person who takes this position will be involved with just about everything that is PCARS! You will see first hand how the club functions, and you will have an advantage in getting to know just about everyone who is an active member of the club. It is a very rewarding position and I would encourage you to consider it!
If you would like to be considered for any of these positions, please contact me directly and I can go into detail with you what the responsibilities of and expectations are for each of these.

Tom WB8LCD

We will also be doing it all again next week on the 26th! in addition to being the day after Christmas, it’s also the 4th Thursday of the month so, it will be “Net Night at the Clubsite” – come on out to 705 Oakwood St. and we’ll have a bit of a post-Christmas / pre-New Years Eve party as well as giving everyone a chance to get checked into the net!
I’ll be looking for you on the net(s)!

December Antenna SIG Scheduled for December 17th is Cancelled

The December Antenna SIG, scheduled for Tuesday 12/17/19, has been cancelled due to probable bad weather. The current forecast(s) call for snow and ice early in the day Tuesday and then a 50% chance of snow later, with temperatures about 28 degrees at meeting time. If that snow event slips to a later time, travel to the club site could be messy or hazardous? Add to that uncertainty the fact that this is the latest time I can get a QST announcement published before the meeting, I am calling this meeting off to be on the safe side. We will pick up with our meetings in January.
I hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
