To all Portage County area amateur radio operators –

This coming week is Ohio’s “Severe Weather
Awareness Week” and you can find more information about it at http://www.weathersafety.ohio.gov/

As a regular event during that week, tornado sirens
around the state will be tested beginning at 0950 hours on Wednesday, March
22nd.  In support of that test, ARES of Portage County will run a net
beginning at 0930 hours on the 146.895 repeater.  All ham radio operators
in the area are invited to participate, you do not have to be an ARES member to
assist in this test.

Please check in to the net by 0945 hours and
provide your call sign, name and location to the net control station.
After the sirens have been set off, the NCS will poll the members of the
net to ask if they heard a siren in their area.  After all reports have
been received the net will be closed.

I hope you take this opportunity to assist in this
valuable information gathering exercise.
