Hamvention is the world’s largest annual gathering of radio amateurs and has been sponsored by the Dayton Amateur Radio Association (DARA) since 1952.

Tickets
Tickets are $26 advance registration and $30 at the door. Includes admission for all three days. 12 years and under are admitted free if accompanied by a valid ticket holder. Junior high through high school students can obtain a free ticket at the will call window.

ARRL Youth Rally – Saturday May, 18
Young hams and young newcomers to amateur radio are reminded to register for the 2024 ARRL Youth Rally, which will be held on Saturday during the convention. While Hamvention offers free tickets for youths aged 12 through high school, advance registration for the Youth Rally ($20) includes a t-shirt to wear on Saturday, a badge, lanyard, and reusable tote bag. Advance registration ends Sunday, May 12. Register now.

PCARS 2024 Field Day Dinner will be served Saturday, June 22 starting between 5:45 and 6:00 pm. Dinner will be delivered to on-duty station operators/loggers first. Dinner for PCARS members and guests will start immediately after.

Dinner is free to all pre-registered PCARS Members. Guests will be charged $5.00 each. I am requesting that everyone who wants to share FD Dinner with us please register by June 8 so we can have enough food available for everyone.

2024 PCARS Field Day Dinner Reservation Form

Dinner Menu: Rigatoni; Fried Chicken; Parsley Potatoes; Green Beans; Rolls & Butter. Bottled water will be available (no charge); soft drinks may be available (no extra charge).

Please note that to have dinner with us you must be on the dinner registration list. Those on this list will be served first. PCARS members (and paid guests) not registered for dinner may be served after registered members have eaten (if extra food is still available).

It is a tradition to snap a PCARS group photo at Hamvention every year. It would be awesome if you could join us! We’ll be meeting up in the bleachers between Main Buildings 2 and 3 on Saturday at exactly 2:00 PM. Make sure you’re on time and in the right spot so you don’t miss out!.

Mark your calendars for the MAY 2024 PCARS Meeting.

While you’re marking that on the calendar, you’ll notice that that is the Monday just prior to Hamvention weekend! I’m hoping you’ve got all your plans laid and we’ll see you in Xenia too.

For our meeting that evening, I’ve invited ARRL Field Services Manager, Mike Walters – W8ZY, to attend the meeting as our guest speaker. We’ll be enjoying dinner at the American Legion so come on out early and introduce yourself before the meeting starts!
