Please join us 7:00 p.m. at the club site 705 Oakwood St. in Ravenna tonight Tuesday Sep 30 for the Could Be Anything SIG.
We will meet to learn more about working a POTA activator in CW. Please join us regardless of your level of proficiency in Morse Code. Last time we had people with zero code experience all the way through club members who actively contest at the club station. We learned a lot and had a good time.
POTA stations generally want your contact so they will often slow down to your speed in order to complete the contact.
Working a contest is said to be a good way to improve your CW skills, since if you’re working search-and-pounce you can get the other station’s information before you respond with your own.
If you have a Windows laptop, bring it and we’ll install Morserunner on it. Morserunner is a free program that lets you practice CW contesting off-the-air.
Thanks and 73 de Rick KD8WCK
