Hello,
We have seen several phishing emails circulating this week that appear to impersonate officers from various amateur radio clubs. Most of these messages have a subject line such as “Are You Available?”
If a recipient responds, the sender will typically ask them to purchase gift cards with a promise that they will be reimbursed later. This is a common scam.
Please do NOT respond to these emails. They are phishing attempts.
The most recent message we saw originated from an email address in Canada that was spoofed to look like it came from a club officer. If you receive one of these emails, the best course of action is to report it to your email provider as a phishing attempt and then delete it.
Please stay alert and verify any unusual requests before responding.
