I know that November is months away. However, some issues need a lot of lead time to resolve. Nick, AC8QG and I will not be running for any offices in November. We will continue to actively support PCARS, but we can’t commit to the time required for an officer’s position. PCARS needs people to step up for President, Vice President and One Year Trustee.

The President and Vice President positions often require a lot of work. These positions require a commitment of time not just for meetings and events, but to support all the behind the scenes activities. Nick and I can tell you it can also be very rewarding.

In the past we have had a difficult time getting people to run for these offices. That is why we are starting our recruitment early. If you are interested in one of these positions, please let Nick or me know. PCARS is an outstanding club, but it does require the support of its members to continue to be great.

We’re just a few days away from our next PCARS meeting! Join us Monday, August 14th at American Legion Post 496 on Mogadore Rd in Kent. The meeting starts at 7:00 PM sharp!

We will be joined by two candidates running for ARRL Great Lakes Division Director! Scott Yonally N8SY and Michael Kalter W8CI will share their vision for our division and take time for questions and answers!

I encourage everyone to bring their thoughts, complaints, concerns, and questions! Please share this information far and wide! All are welcome to join us in person or by Zoom!

Hi EVERYONE

Please join us for some good conversation on the world famous PCARS Thursday Night Net. It is held at 8:00 PM local time on the 146.895 repeater with a negative offset and a PL tone of 118.8. Contact is also available via the K8BF-L EchoLink node. We always have interesting club and other amateur radio news.

Remember you can get a good looking certificate if you attend 10 consecutive Thursday Night Nets.

I am always looking for net control operators. It is not as hard as you think and we have a very forgiving crowd of hams that visit our nets. If interested, let me know.
