The Antenna SIG meetings are open to all PCARS members and guests. All ham radio operators or anyone interested in Amateur Radio are also welcome to attend.
We will be discussing all aspects of antenna design, construction, test equipment, and experimentation. Everyone is welcome to join the discussion, and talk about their antennas.

We’re just a few days away from our next PCARS meeting! Join us Monday, July 10th at American Legion Post 496 on Mogadore Rd in Kent. The meeting starts at 7:00 PM sharp!

Bill Salyers, AJ8B will be our featured speaker at the July meeting. He will be talking about how we can get DXCC “One Byte at a Time”. His hints might help most of us on our way to DXCC. His talk will be via Zoom.

Hello PCARS Contesters & DXers:

I know it’s early in July, but I wanted to give you a preview of our next meeting. We will be meeting on Tuesday, July 25th at 7PM at PCARS World HQ.

Our main topic will be the upcoming Ohio QSO Party that takes place at the end of August. That is also when we have our BBQ Open House. So we will be able to show off our Operations Room and maybe put a few new people on the air. But there will be a group of contests that weekend. And some of you may want to take part in a few or all of them.

Here’s the list:

Ohio QSO Party – 1600UTC Aug 26 to 0400UTC Aug 27.
Kansas QSO Party – 1400UTC Aug 26 to 2000UTC Aug 27
Hawaii QSO Party – 0400UTC Aug 26 to 0400UTC Aug 28
W/VE Islands QSO Party – 1200UTC Aug 26 to 0300UTC Aug 27

When we get together, we’ll want to discuss how we can accommodate those who would like to keep K8BF on the air and work some of these other events. The Islands QSO Party looks interesting if there are any actually being activated.

I hope that you will keep this posting handy and plan on attending and taking part in whatever events in which we decide to participate.

Hi EVERYONE

Please join us for some good conversation on the world famous PCARS Thursday Night Net. It is held at 8:00 PM local time on the 146.895 repeater with a negative offset and a PL tone of 118.8. Contact is also available via the K8BF-L EchoLink node. We always have interesting club and other amateur radio news.

Remember you can get a good looking certificate if you attend 10 consecutive Thursday Night Nets.

I am always looking for net control operators. It is not as hard as you think and we have a very forgiving crowd of hams that visit our nets. If interested, let me know.
