April – Showers – Snow – Heat – Cold – Rain – What a mess. Hopefully May will be better. It’s time for gathering inputs for the May issue of the PCARS newsletter – The RADIOGRAM!

Inputs for the May 2023 issue of The RADIOGRAM are due on Friday April 28th at 8pm. (as always – the last Friday of the month).

Help keep the newsletter interesting to all by sending in your article for the PCARS newsletter. And, don’t forget the in-focus, large format photos as well!!!

Let all of PCARS know what projects or ham operations are keeping you busy. Let’s all get excited with PCARS, the improving band conditions, and with Ham Radio fun in 2023. AND – May is HAMVENTION month – I hope all of you are going to be able to attend, it is going to be a lot of fun.

It would be very much appreciated if you send your inputs in prior to the deadline.

Our award winning editor of the Radiogram, Parky KB8UUZ. has an article in the May issue of QST. He wrote a great piece on how to build a club newsletter. You could find no better source on this topic. Congratulations Parky on your article. Everyone, check it out!!

I know Parky knows this, but everyone in PCARS appreciates all the work he does to document our club. THANKS from everyone in the club.

I am sorry to report that the General Class scheduled to start tonight is cancelled. We only had two register. I will consider rescheduling the class if and when we get five to register . The class will likely be held via Zoom. Timing can get tough as summer approaches so I need to know interest level as soon as possible.

Hi EVERYONE

Please join us for some good conversation on the world famous PCARS Thursday Night Net. It is held at 8:00 PM local time on the 146.895 repeater with a negative offset and a PL tone of 118.8. Contact is also available via the K8BF-L EchoLink node. We always have interesting club and other amateur radio news.

Remember you can get a good looking certificate if you attend 10 consecutive Thursday Night Nets.

I am always looking for net control operators. It is not as hard as you think and we have a very forgiving crowd of hams that visit our nets. If interested, let me know.
