PCARS Digital Special Interest Group, Tuesday April 4th 7PM

The next PCARS Digital Special Interest Group meeting will take place on Tuesday April 4th at 7:00 PM at the club site. This month we will be doing demonstrations of the Slow Scan TV apps, MMSSTV for analog SSTV, EasyPal for digital SSTV, and KG-STV for digital SSTV. I will have two laptops set up to send and receive SSTV, using a CAT5 cable to substitute as the radio link. Although it may be a bit tricky, I should be able to show these apps via Zoom so those that can’t make it should be able to still see what’s going on.

As always, we will have time available to help with any questions or issues you may be having with digital communications. The meeting will also take place via Zoom at the link below. I hope to see you there.

Tornado Damage

We have all heard of damage caused by the many tornadoes that hit the South. One of our club members Daryl Stout, WX4QZ sent the following note to Parky. Please keep the victims of these storms in our thoughts and prayers.

You likely have seen on the news, that the Little Rock, Arkansas area, was hit by a large tornado. I am okay, but there is significant tornado damage in much of West Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Jacksonville, among many other areas.

There was no damage here, thank God, but one local hospital reported at least two dozen injuries, with several of those listed as critical…and there have also been several fatalities. There were many reports of homes and businesses damaged or destroyed, with numerous vehicles flipped over, damaged, or destroyed. There are also at least 80,000 people without power.

Daryl, WX4QZ
