The PCARS Black Squirrel Contest Group, is planning to participate in the North American QSO Party – SSB mode. This takes place on August 15.
But there is the difference from our other contest participations. Since the contest organizers allow teams to be formed, we can enter a list of ops as a team. They will be able to work the contest from their own QTHs, using their own call sign and then their score will be added to all the other team members to reach a final point total.
We can have more than one team with a maximum of 5 ops per team. The catch is that, as contest coordinator, I have to pre-register all the ops with the contest organizers in order to make our ops “legal” to participate in the contest.
Therefore, I am asking that anyone who would like to participate in this contest, email that you want to be on a team and give me your call sign at chuckw8pt@gmail.com. If you said you wanted to participate at our recent meeting, let me know again. I have put two teams together and have pre-registered them. But I need at least one more op to balance the teams. Please let me know.
You can google the contest and read the rules. The power limit is 100w, so that should level the playing field somewhat.
