The PCARS December meeting will be held at the Kent American Legion Post 496 on Monday, December 11, 2023. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM sharp!

This is our annual Christmas Dinner meeting, open to all PCARS members and their families. The dinner will be catered by the Kent American Legion Post. The cost is $25 per plate (plus the PayPal processing fees). The entrees for this year’s dinner will be your choice between Chicken Breast or a 7 oz strip steak. Each meal also comes with parsley potatoes, candied carrots, and salad. Beverages will be available from the American Legion canteen. Dessert will also be provided. Don’t forget, dinner will be served at 7:00 PM!

IMPORTANT! You must RSVP by November 30! If you haven’t already done so, please RSVP today on our website!
After the dinner, there will be a short PCARS meeting and our PCARS Gift Exchange! Please bring a ten-dollar gift and mark it for a HAM or a NON-HAM. (Non-ham gifts should be gender-neutral.)

I received this from our long time PCARS member from Little Rock, Arkansa and wanted to pass it on to you:

I had left hip replacement surgery done on November 13th, and ended up staying in the hospital for two nights because of the pain. Then, I stayed with friends for three nights, and then back home. However, I cannot plug in the UPS and computer units until I’m released from the doctor, and that may not come till next year. In short, I will be off the air until further notice.

December 2023 newsletter inputs needed, please.

November is flying past, and that means it is time for gathering inputs for the November issue of the PCARS newsletter – The RADIOGRAM!

Inputs for the December 2023 issue of The RADIOGRAM are due on Friday November 24th at 8pm. (as always – the last Friday of the month).

Don’t get caught short from the turkey coma – please get your inputs in as soon as you can !!!

Help keep the newsletter interesting to all by sending in your article for the PCARS newsletter. And, don’t forget the in-focus, large format photos as well!!!

2023 ARRL Board of Directors Election Results
11/17/2023

ARRL The National Association for Amateur Radio® announces the results of the 2023 ARRL Division elections.

ARRL Great Lakes Division Vice Director Scott Yonally, N8SY (2,175 votes), of Lexington, Ohio, defeated candidate Michael Kalter, W8CI (2,023 votes), for the position of Division Director. Yonally will assume the role when Director Dale Williams, WA8EFK, who has held the seat since 2014, completes his current term at the end of the year.

In the Great Lakes Division, Roy Hook, W8REH, will be the next Vice Director. Hook ran unopposed for the seat vacated by Director-elect Yonally.

Winners will assume their roles for terms beginning January 1, 2024.

Could be a good pass to watch if the sky is clear.
