Sorry for the last moment notification, but due to a family emergency, the OSPOTA event at West Branch SP is cancelled.

All is better now, but I still feel the need to stay closer to home tomorrow.

I know a lot of you will be busy with OSPOTA and the Potato Stump this weekend. Just want to let you know PCARS will have a booth at this event.

This is one of Kent State’s largest public events and is open to everyone. Airplanes, airplane rides, airplanes on display and the Goodyear blimp will be available for all those interested.

PCARS Contesters:

On Sep 21-22, K8BF will be put on the air to participate in the Washington State Salmon Run. This is the name of their State QSO Party. The event runs from 1600UTC on Saturday to 0700UTC (Noon until 3AM) on Sunday and then there is a break. The contest then continues from 1600UTC on Sunday until it finishes at 2400UTC (Noon until 8PM) Sunday evening. So this is a 23 hr contest. It is a CW/Pho only contest. Sorry, no FT8 or any digital at all.

We will be entering in the “Unlimited” category. It’s the one that allows Multi op/Multi transmitter entries. I would like to see a couple of CW ops, in addition to our regular pho ops, join us so that we can make a very good showing in this contest. We will be gathering, starting around 10am on Saturday to review the rules. Hope to see a lot of you at the club site for this event.

Hi everyone,

On Saturday, I’ll have an OSPOTA station set up at West Branch SP. My plan is to operate MSL (Multi-op/Single transmitter), and open the operating up to all who want to participate. The shelter by the East boat ramp off of Gilbert Road has been rented for the day. I’ve applied for a 1 by 1 callsign (N8P) to use.

I’m bringing my portable grill, and cooking hot dogs for lunch; nothing fancy.

The contest begins at 10 AM, and I intend to run till 4-5 pm. I’m cutting it a bit short so I can turn in early, and head out to the Findlay Hamfest on Sunday.

All are welcome to attend. You do not have to be a member of any particular club to come out, and get on the air.
