October is flying past, and that means it is time to gather inputs for the November issue of the PCARS newsletter – The RADIOGRAM!
Inputs for the November 2023 issue of The RADIOGRAM are due on Friday, October 27th at 8 p.m. (as always – the last Friday of the month). Help keep the newsletter interesting to all by sending in your article for the PCARS newsletter. And, don’t forget the in-focus, large-format photos as well!!! Let all of PCARS know what projects or ham operations are keeping you busy.
It would be very much appreciated if you send your inputs in prior to the deadline. Send your inputs and in-focus photos to kb8uuz@gmail.com
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Take Care & 73,

The Scouts Jamboree on the Air event happens this weekend 10/21-10/22. Bands and frequencies recommended can be found at
https://www.scouting.org/international/jota-joti/jota/operators-guides/
PCARS will be manning the club site for visiting Scouts from 4 PM till 8 PM on Saturday 10/21. We will have HF SSB, FT8, EchoLink, and DSTAR operating for the scouts. If you know any Scouts interested in getting on the air for this event, just have them stop by the club site.
Please consider monitoring one of the recommended frequencies so you can make a Scout’s day with a contact.
We will be shutting down out EchoLink server during this event. This will allow EchoLink clients to run at the club. At the end of the event, the server will return to normal operation.
Please contact me if you have any questions.

What: Support Your Parks Weekend
When: Oct. 21, 2023
Time: 10 am – 4 pm
Where: Punderson State Park Pavilion K-1985
Address: 11755 Kinsman Rd, Newbury Township, OH 44065
Pavilion Location: Across from Marina FQ6Q+JCF Burton, Ohio (drop that in Google and it’ll give you the exact pin)
Since the initial QST went out we have had a number of people sign up to participate and bring good food to this event! We’ll probably have about a dozen people there with a mix of chili, bread, cornbread, donuts, milk, and beans! The weather will be a little cooler, but it’s looking like the rain is going to cooperate for the most part. There are some new antennas being built specifically for this outing. We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

PCARS DXers & Contesters:
This is just a friendly reminder. Since we are finished with contests that are run from the club site, and unless there is a compelling reason for holding a meeting, there will be no DX/Contesting Special Interest Group meeting the 4th Tuesday of this month (October 24). Also, as we have done in the past, we do not have meetings in Nov and Dec to do the proximity of the various holidays.
So our next meeting will take place in January, 2024 just before Freeze Your Acorns Off.
Meanwhile, I encourage you to GET ON THE AIR and even work some DX or get into a contest.
